Continuing from my earlier post, in this part, I have selected 15 very popular ' Mein or Mera' or 'Hum aur Hamara' songs of the 1960s. The first song on my list is 'Mera Naam Raju Gharana Anaam' from the 1960 film 'Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behati Hai'(1960), sung by Mukesh for Raj Kapoor. The song is sung by Mukesh and it is picturized on Raj Kapoor as a boat song. The song is an introduction song where Raj Kapoor, carrying a “Dafli” introduces himself by singing this song. This film has two more songs 'Ho Maine Pyar Kiya' and 'Hum Bhi Hain Tum Bhi Ho' in this theme.

  The accordion is an instrument similar to the harmonium but the way it is carried (on the shoulders), makes for a different feeling of joy. There was a time when it was a very popular instrument. Popular Songs in Hindi Cinema about the Ganga.

  The Ganga (Ganges)  flows for a distance of 2,525 km, all the way from the Himalayas,  and flows south and east through the  Gangetic Plain  of  North India  into Bangladesh, where it empties into the  Bay of Bengal . It is the holiest river for the people of India.    Hindi cinema has embraced it wholeheartedly, Many film titles and songs have been written on this river. Raj Kapoor had a great fascination for Ganga, he made two films with Ganga in the title Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behti Hai(1960) and Ram Teri Ganga Maili(1985) and recall the song 'Bol Radha Bol' from the 1964 film Sangam. I t is rare when a feature film competes in an international film festival and wins not just the top honour for the best film but two other major awards (one for best director and one for the best actor) as well. That’s the accomplishment of Reza Mirkarimi’s Iranian film Castle of Dreams at the 2019 Shanghai International Film Festival. While Mirkarimi’s previous feature film Daughter (2016) dealt with a father-daughter protective relationship, Castle of Dreams also looks at another relationship within a family.
