Pran - Noorjahan was his Heroine in his First Hindi Film

  Pran, the  greatest villain ever in the history of Indian cinema  played hero roles from 1940–47.  In the 1940s, romantic duets featuring him, like the songs "Tere Naaz Uthane Ko Jee Chahta Hai" from  Grihasti , opposite Shardha, and 'Ud Ja Ud Ja Panchhi' from  Khandaan  (1942), with Noor Jehan, became very popular. He   got his first role in  Dalsukh M. Pancholi 's  Punjabi  film  Yamla Jat  (1940).  The film featured baby  Noor Jehan . as a child artist, Both appeared in Khandan(1942) as romantic leads. It was Noorjehan's first film as an adult. The film was a great success, Noorjehan shifted to Bombay.  She shared melodies with  Shanta Apte  in  Duhai  (1943). Ashok Kumar - The most bankable star of the 40s

  The first film of Ashok Kumar was  Jeevan Naiya  (1936), a Bombay Talkies production.  It was a sheer fluke that he became an actor. He didn't want to become an actor.  Those days, actors were really looked down upon. They were believed to come from the lowest strata of society. He came to Bombay to become a director. So he joined Bombay Talkies as a technician. he worked in the camera department. Later, he was made a lab assistant. He worked as Lab Assistant for 8 months, suddenly Himanshu Rai, the owner of Bombay Talkies made him the hero of the film Jeevan Naiya replacing the existing hero Najam-ul- Hussain. Initially, he was not comfortable in acting but later gathered confidence in his second film   Achhut Kanya  (1936) ,  where he again paired with Devika Rani became a smash hit established him a great actor.   Rehman (23 June 1921- 5 Nov 1984),  a  man whose majestic voice was his signature in the Golden Era of Bollywood. He  was an integral part of the Guru Dutt team, and most known for his roles in films such as Pyar ki Jeet, Badi Behen, Pyaasa, Chaudhvin Ka Chand, Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam,  like Guru Dutt he was also signed by Prabhat Studios as 3rd assistant director to  Vishram Bedekar during the shooting of Lakharani (1945). He was the hero of Suraya in Pyar Ki Jeet(1948), and Badi Behan(1949). Hero of Kamini Kaushal & Madhubala in  Paras(1949) and Pardes(1950),  as time passed, he accepted supporting roles and made his mark in some hit films like  Pyaasa (1957) ,  Phir Subah Hogi  (1958),   Chaudhvin Ka Chand (1960)and  Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam (1962). DAVID- The 'John Chacha' of Bollywood

  David Abraham Cheulkar  (21 June1908– 02 January 1982), popularly known as  David , was a character actor of Bollywood. His real birth date is not available on Wikipedia and other websites but I got this date from a photograph of his grave. He was a well-educated person. He was a graduate in 1930 and did LLB during that period.  He was interested in acting, he made his debut in the 1937 film Zambo as a character artist. In this film, he played the role of a clean-shaven professor. Since then he always remained clean-shaven. He appeared in many films in the early 40s. He got fame as 'John Chacha' from the 1854 film 'Boot Polish'. for which he was awarded the 1955  Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award .  In a career spanning four decades, he played mostly character roles, starting with the 1941 film  Naya Sansar , and went on to act in over 110 films, including memorable films such as  Gol Maal  (1979),  Baton Baton Mein  (1979), Ch...

Danny Denzongpa - The name Danny was given by Jaya Bhaduri Bachchan

  His original name is  Tshering Phintso Denzongpa  became famous as Danny from Bollywood. He was born on 25th Feb 1948 in Sikkim. He got admission to Armed Force Medical College Pune and went there to study Medicine but his interest was in Art. When he came to know about Pune Film & Television Institute, he shifted to an acting course. Jaya Bhaduri was his classmate, who suggested him to change his name to 'Danny'.He also became a good friend of Amitabh Bachchan, they used to play tennis together in the early 70s. He got his first role in Zaroorat(1972) but  got his major break in Gulzar's  Mere Apne  (1971) , where he had a positive role.
